What the complaints were about
- tipm — 16.3% of this year's complaints, against 0.6% across the other years of this generation (28.4×). Owners wrote it as: tipm, chrysler vehicles.
- dodge — 42.3% of this year's complaints, against 16% across the other years of this generation (2.6×).
- pump — 23.4% of this year's complaints, against 5.7% across the other years of this generation (4.1×). Owners wrote it as: pump, fuel pump, relay, pump relay.
Words owners used for the same problem are counted together, so a fault written four different ways is measured once. Grouped by which complaints they appear in, not by a list anyone wrote in advance.

What owners wrote
2011 DODGE RAM 1500 STALLED AT INTERSECTION, AND STALLED ON BUSY FREEWAY 198 IN THE FOG, I HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED, NOW WE FIND OUT THAT IT IS ELECTRICAL AND THE CAUSE IS A FAULTY TIPM THE COST OF REPLACE 1500 DOLLARS.
WHILE THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF THE FUEL PUMP WILL CONTINUE TO RUN AND WILL CAUSE THE BATTERY TO DIE. THIS IS THE RESULT OF A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. THIS PART HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME TIPM BUT NOT FOR DODGE RAM TRUCKS.

How this was worked out
Every year of the Ram 1500 was compared against its own history rather than against other cars, which removes popularity and age from the answer — a common car draws more complaints at equal reliability, and an older one has had longer to accumulate them. A year is flagged when it drew at least 2.5× this model's median and at least 50 complaints.
This is a fault record, not a review. Nobody files a federal complaint to say the car was fine, so it shows what tends to go wrong — not whether owners liked it, and not whether it is a good car.
