What the complaints were about
- stall — 7.4% of this year's complaints, against 1% across the model's other years (7.7×). Owners wrote it as: stall, raining, light car.
- wiring — 6.2% of this year's complaints, against 1% across the model's other years (6.4×). Owners wrote it as: wiring, monitoring, connectors, monitoring system.
- fuel pump — 6.2% of this year's complaints, against 1.4% across the model's other years (4.3×). Owners wrote it as: fuel pump, connector, failed start.
Words owners used for the same problem are counted together, so a fault written four different ways is measured once. Grouped by which complaints they appear in, not by a list anyone wrote in advance.

- electrical — 9% of complaints, 5× usual
- airbag light — 7% of complaints, 4× usual

What owners wrote
GAS CAP INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. REPLACED GAS CAP AND TRIED TO RESET. IT RESET, AND THEN THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. REMOVED NEW GAS CAP AND REINSTALLED, RESET, AND INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN ALONG WITH THE MIL LIGHT. CAN NOT GET EITHER ON TO RESET.
I WAS TOLD IT'S ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND THE CAR DOESN'T GO OVER 20 MILES AND IT SAYS THAT IT'S THE INTAKE ALSO SAYS IT'S THE MUFFLER AND SENSORS AND OTHER THINGS WHICH I HAVE HAD CHECK AND IT NEITHER.AND SOMETIMES IT PUSHES BACK OR IS STALLS AND JUST TURNS OFF…

How this was worked out
Every year of the Chrysler Sebring was compared against its own history rather than against other cars, which removes popularity and age from the answer — a common car draws more complaints at equal reliability, and an older one has had longer to accumulate them. A year is flagged when it drew at least 2.5× this model's median and at least 50 complaints.
This is a fault record, not a review. Nobody files a federal complaint to say the car was fine, so it shows what tends to go wrong — not whether owners liked it, and not whether it is a good car.
